What NOT to Say to a Pregnant Woman

I’m always so mindful of the words I use when chatting with a mommy-to-be, so I just assumed others would do the same around me. My biggest pregnancy concern was making sure my baby was healthy so why was I so consumed with people’s comments on my weight gain? I think what threw me for a loop was people’s audacity to say the first thing that came to mind,  their lack of compassion and lack of common sense.

I asked moms about the worst thing someone said to them while pregnant:

What’s the worst thing someone has ever said to you? Let me know in the comments below.

Me? Shortly after our baby announcement, a co-worker said, “I thought you were starting to resemble a linebacker.”  Yup! True story. THE NERVE!!

Hey, nice to meet you. I’m new at the whole mom game. Just trying to get it perfect. HA! Impossible, right? I think so too. That’s why I created a place for the Wanna Be Super-Mom. We exist, we’re trying, and although we may not get it right the first time, you better believe we’ll keep working at it.
